Filipino Garlic Fried Rice - Sinangag
Easy 3-Ingredient Flavorful Side Dish
8-9 cups of cooked leftover rice
1 head of garlic, peeled then minced
2 tsp of salt
(1/3 cup vegetable oil for cooking)
In a large wok, add 1/3 cup vegetable oil and heat on medium-high heat.
When the oil is hot, add in 1 head of garlic, minced, and sauté the garlic until the color turns brown and the texture looks crispy.
Add half of the rice (about 4 cups). Mix the rice well with the garlic while frying. If you are frying a smaller quantity of rice (less than 4 cups), you can put all the rice at once if your wok is big enough). Once the first half of rice is mixed in, add in the second half (another 4 to 5 cups).
Mix the rice well with the garlic while frying. Season with 2 tsp of table salt. Mix this well. Continue to cook for another 5-10 minutes, until all the rice is heated through. Enjoy!
